Android 7.0 N Release Date, Name and Features

Android 7.0 N Release Date, Name and Features

The next version of Android 7.0 Nectar, Neopolitan, Nacho, Nutella or Nougat? I am not sure about this. This post is about Android 7.0 N release date, name and new features.
Also Read :Android 7.0 : Guess The Name.

Android 7.0 N release date: When is Android N coming out on market?

The next version of Android 7.0 N will get its first outing from Google in 2016. Which has now been confirmed date to run on 18- to 20 May 2016. Google will offer an Android 7.0 N Developer Preview. Which you will be able to install Android 7.0 N on its current Nexus devices for early testing.

Android N name: What will Android 7.0 be called?

Following Android Alpha and Android Beta, Google has always named its Android OS updates after sweet treats, and in alphabetical order. So far we've had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop and Marshmallow.

Next in line is Android 'N', sure to be a sweet treat, but Google won't reveal the operating system's full name until the second half of 2016.
Google's major Android OS upgrades haven't always come annually, but in May 2015 Google VP of engineering Hiroshi Lockheimer told Fast Company that "As we've grown as a platform, we realize that to some extent predictability is important for the whole industry: developers, manufacturers, operators, and consumers, frankly. So we've landed with sort of a yearly cadence of big releases, so, for instance, one year we release J, the next year we release K, and then the year after that L, and then this year we'll launch M, and so you can predict what will happen next year.

Android 7.0 N Features

Multi-window support

True multitasking support is finally arriving as expected, and it's deservedly the highlight of Android N. You're going to be able to open up two apps at once on your Nexus phone or tablet.

Direct Reply Notifications

You won't have to navigate away from your current window (or, now, windows) just to answer an incoming message. You can just reply within the notification that appears at the top of the screen.

New quick settings menu

Google is adding a new quick settings menu to the notifications shade you pull down from the top. It's a lot like the one Samsung, LG and every other Android manufacturer seems to use.

Bundled notifications

Google's not done with the way Android N changes notifications. It also announced that notification cards will be grouped together if they're from the same app.

Doze Mode 2.0

One of the (literal) sleeper hits of Android Marshmallow has been Doze Mode, Google's crafty way of saving battery life whenever your device is stationary. It's amounts to a deep standby mode.
